I've listed
below some favorite links to artists who inspire me. Please note, these are in no particular order other than my
own stream of conciousness...
www.shupe.net - These guys are truly amazing musicians, they inspire
me to improve. Every time I see them play I am inspired to go home and practice more...who says I can't "dream
big"? So someday I may just surprise everyone by breaking out six other instruments I've been inspired to start
learning. Not to worry, I'll focus on the guitar to start and then I'll work on the mandolin, bass guitar, bouzouki
(sp?), fiddle, drums, and the banjo...this could keep me busy for a while.
www.stephaniesmithmusic.com - Stephanie has been a great friend since
I first started playing music in Utah...She is an incredible singer and songwriter who writes the songs I wish I could write.
www.debrafotheringham.com -
Debra has the most beautiful voice in this world...just listen to her "Waterfall" song and you'll be a beliver too.
She's not to shabby on the guitar either.
www.peterbreinholt.com - The first time I ever saw Pete play was up at Sundance at the end of September 2001. I will
never forget driving down the canyon from the show after hearing "What About" for the first time...it made me realize
that there is still hope and happiness in this world and that things were going to get better.
www.sampayne.com - Sam is just a wonderful troubadour...I wish I could
tell a tale like him...And I wish I could scat like him to. Yet one more thing to put on my list of things to learn
(see www.shupe.net comment above
for a more complete list).
www.tilbywilliamsband.com - Ryan Tilby and Drew Williams are two accomplished musicians playing a little bluegrass and roots music.
Check these guys out!
www.rainingjane.com - My great friend Secily Saunders introduced me to these gals...they're are a lot of fun, and cello
rocks!
Carrie
Scott has a new album coming out this summer. It's called Segue!!! Don't wait to get your copy...it's awesome!
www.timapanogos.org - TSSA website
that lists lots of local artists...I've been a volunteer Board Member since 2003 and it's been a lot of fun getting involved
with the local music community.
Just wait...there will be more links coming
